It's that time of year again where all the little ghosts and goblins come out to play and all the leaves are falling and turning such beautiful colors - it's my favorite above all other seasons for sure!
The challenge for Scrap & Play #12 is to create something "Spooky". It could be a layout, home decor, cards or even a few halloween party invitations!
I decided to create a cute little wall decor or hanger for my front door...I still haven't decided where I like it best so right now it's decorating my old vintage typewriter in the living room!
I bought the thin wooden ghost for about 1.99 at Michaels and then painted it with white acrylic paint. I then covered it in Tim Holtz Rock Candy Crackle Paint. Once it dried, I used various colors of Tim Holtz distress ink to get down and dirty into those cracks left behind by the crackle paint. I then used Forest Moss and Black Soot distress ink along with a few of his awesome stencils to create the spider web and dotted look throughout his body.
I then used My Minds Eye Wicked line to layer various flowers, chipboard pieces and embelishments. The flowers and banners were cut with Tim Holtz dies. I used some old green American Craft Thickers that I had lying around for the "Boo", using some Black Soot distress ink on the edges and then covering each letter with Glossy Accents by Ranger.
I'm happy with the way it turned out and look forward to finding that "perfect" spot to display it!!
Make sure to link up your projects for a chance to win a great prize from Bella Blvd this month!
