LCOM Card Sketch #28 and LCOM Sketch #145

Again - some beautiful cards over at LCOM with the fabulous sketch #28....head over there to check out the beautiful takes on the sketch....
So here is mine...yes - I know - it's not Christmas yet - but why not start on some Christmas Cards early right?  Well - I did - and I really, really enjoyed it!  I hate the summer is leaving us so shortly but I also look forward to the fabulous Christmas Season ahead.
On this card I embossed the cardstock base with a Texture Fade from Tim Holtz and then covered the front of the card with a clear transparancy that had snow flakes on it (I think it's by Making Memories). I used MME for the die cut and the Santa chipboard sticker and then tied some pretty embellies to the center of the bow.  It's simple, but pretty I think.

Now for the LO Sketch #145...
This is of my little niece when she was at my house doing crafts one day.  I used a bunch of different lines and embellies to spruce this up.  I had a hard time finding three photos and angling them like in the sketch, so I used a journalling card cut in half and backwards to frame the picture.  I also embossed the bottom of the pink paper with a Texture Fade by Tim Holtz - then sanded it a bit to give it that distressed look.  I just love that sweet face of hers!

I am now on days off so will probably be scrapping up a storm each night...hopefully!  And a little gift to myself today.....I won't spill the beans just yet....but it should be here in about three weeks!  I'll keep you posted - I've been waiting for this beaut for a long time.....!

  1. The card is lovely, Jody...that bow with the clear jewels hanging is so pretty and elegant. And your layout is a happy design that put a smile on my face! Love seeing children crafting with joy!
